Tyznik, Katherine Florence (January 8, 1928 - January 29, 2007)

Katherine F. Tyznik, age 79, of Lublin, passed away on Monday, January 29, 2007 at Memorial Nursing & Rehab in Medford under the care of Hope Hospice & Palliative Care, Inc.

Funeral service will be held on Friday, February 2, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at the Thorp Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Randy Pospisil officiating. Burial will follow at the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner, WI.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 1, 2007 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Thorp Funeral Home and on Friday, one hour prior to services also at the funeral home.

Thorp Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Katherine Florence Hahn was born on January 8, 1928 in Somerset County, Pennsylvania to Willard James and Katie Mae (Stevens) Hahn. As a young child, Katherine’s family moved to Georgia where she received her education. She was united in marriage to Walter Tyznik, Jr. on January 12, 1946 in Warner Robins (Houston County), Georgia. Over the years, Katherine had several jobs, but mostly was a homemaker taking care of and raising her eleven children.

Katherine had many varied interests, but especially enjoyed gardening, watching and feeding her birds, and cooking.

She is survived by six sons: Walter Tyznik of Lublin, Roy (Noreen) Tyznik of Thorp, Harold Tyznik of Lublin, Carl (Lisa) Tyznik of Medford, Chris (Karen) Tyznik of Thorp, and George Tyznik of Medford; four daughters: Kathy Tyznik of Thorp, Nettie (Bob Leonhardt) Nayes of Stratford, Nancy (Phil) Chmielowiec of Ladysmith, and Tammy Park of Withee; fourteen grandchildren; one sister, Georgia Mae Hayes of Macon, GA and one brother, John (Lana) Hahn of Asama, MI; many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Katherine was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Walter Tyznik, Jr., on August12, 2002; two sons: Edwin Dale Tyznik on October 26, 2006 and Raynard Tyznik in infancy. She was also preceded in death by two brothers: Steven and William Hahn.

Thorp Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
