Marx, Anna (23 March 1874 - 18 June 1941)

Mrs. Mathew Marx passed away at 6 a.m. Wednesday, June 18, at her home at 148 West Sixth Street after a short illness.

Mrs. Marx was born in Germany on March 23, 1874, to Carl and Johanna Beilke, her given name being Anna. In 1890, when she was 16 years of age, she came to America with her two brothers, who have passed away.

On October 15, 1892, she was united in marriage to Mathew Marx. Four children were born to this union: Mathew, (Josephine) Mrs. Milton Page, George and (Rose) Mrs. Richard Krantz. The two sons passed away in infancy, and the daughter, Josephine, died December 5, 1918, a victim of influenza. She is survived by her daughter, Rose. Mr. Marx died January 11, 1941.

She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the Christian Mothers society.

Rosary services will be held at the Schiller funeral home Friday evening at 8 o’clock.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 21, at 9 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, the Rev. Fr. J. A. Biegler, officiating. The body will be interred in the Catholic Cemetery.
