Jonas, Susie (2 April 1883 - 1941)

Funeral services for Mrs. Paul Jonas, a resident of the town of Levis since 1929, were held at the Schiller Funeral Home at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Rev. O. Asp officiating.

Mrs. Jonas was born Susie Basner in Czechoslovakia April 2, 1883, where she grew to womanhood, coming to America in 1901. In 1905, she was married to Paul Jonas of Chicago. They made their home in that city until 1929 when they came to Clark County and purchased a farm in the Town of Levis.

She is survived by her husband and two sons, John at home and Paul, Jr., Chicago; a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Polidora, Chicago; and three brothers, Paul and Steve Basner, Chicago and Gus Basner, California.

Here for the rites were: Paul Basner and daughter, Ann; Steve Basner and daughters, Christina and Lillian; Mrs. Elizabeth Polidora, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Jonas, Jr., and family, Mrs. Sue Stack and Mrs. Kubiak, all of Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Paul and daughter, of Indiana, and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Strazia, Waukegan, Ill.

The pallbearers were John K???, William Richmond, Frank Mazola, Alois Tichy, Emil Benesky and Joe Cernak.

Interment was made in the Neillsville Cemetery.
