Milen B. Tetzlaff, age 84, of Viroqua and formerly of Ferryville and Owen-Withee, died on Thursday, March 15, 2007, at Vernon Memorial Hospital in Viroqua.

He was born at Hartland in Waukesha County on July 13, 1922 to Julius and Mary (Tessman) Tetzlaff. As a young man, he held a pilot license. He married Jean Schrank on May 2, 1948 and they farmed in Waukesha County until 1976, when they moved to Clark County where they also farmed and he also sold feed. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, but his family and farming came first. His beloved Jean died in 1989. He then married Marianne Loether. He retired from farming and they lived in Ferryville and wintered in Jacksonville, FL. Marianne died in the spring of 2004, and he moved to rural Viroqua in the summer of 2005.

Milen is survived by one daughter, Carolyn (Dennis) Schneidewent, of Waukesha; seven sons, Roger (Terry), of Wales; David (Charlotte), of Neillsville, Ben (Shelly), of Menomonie Falls; Charles (Toni), of Colfax; John (Wendy), of Blue Earth; Tom, of Eau Claire; Allen (Patti), of Sundance, WY; 26 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 14 brothers and sisters - six living; and other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services were held on Monday, March 19, 2007, at Wisconsin Memorial Park, at 13235 West Capital Drive in Brookfield, with Pastor James Krueger officiating. The family served as pallbearers. The Thorson-Reetz Funeral Home of Viroqua served the family.
