Bell, Ruth (Marriage - 14 Oct. 1939)

A lovely wedding was solemnized last Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock in St. John’s Evangelical and Reformed Church, when Miss Ruth Bell, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Bell, became the bride of Mr. Clarence Giloy, son of Mr. Phillip Giloy, Rev. V. D. Weidler officiated, at the single ring ceremony.

The bride was prettily attired in a navy blue dress and carried a beautiful bridal bouquet of chrysanthemums and American Beauty roses. She was attended by her sister, Miss Helen Bell, who also wore a navy blue dress, with a beautiful corsage. The groom wore a suit of navy blue, and was attended by his brother, Robert Giloy.

After a short mediation, Mrs. V. D. Weidler sang, "O, Perfect Love."

Immediately following the ceremony, a reception for relatives and close friends was held at the home of the bride’s sister, Mrs. August Kaufman, due to illness of the bride’s mother.

Out of town guests at the wedding included Mr. and Mrs. Paul Krueger and children, Fall Creek; Mr. and Mrs. Martin Fisher and family, and Mrs. John Miller from Loyal.

The newly weds will start housekeeping soon on a farm near the groom’s father’s, southwest of the village. A host of friends extend congratulations and sincere wishes for many years of happiness.
