Woodford, George, Sr. (4 April 1866 - 9 July 1940)

Geo. Woodford, Sr., died suddenly at his farm home two miles north of the village, about 8:30 o’clock Tuesday evening. Death was due to a heart affliction from which he had suffered for several years past.

Two of Mr. Woodford’s sons had handled the farm work, and at times he had assisted in the lighter duties. He was feeling better and had helped some in the hayfield Tuesday afternoon and also assisted with the evening chores. Death came without warning as he was sitting in a rocking chair in his home.

Funeral services will be held at the town hall at 2:00 o’clock Friday afternoon.
