Zeller, Rudolph "Rudy" (2 Sept. 1889 - 16 March 1936)

Rudy Zeller Dies Suddenly

Rudolph Zeller, aged 46 years, died suddenly of a heart failure about 5:00 o’clock Monday afternoon, while at work in G. H. Anderson’s wood lot, two and a half miles north of the town. He started work that morning cutting trees with Louis and Henry Laffe, on a tract of woods which they had purchased of Mr. Anderson. Death came without warning as he was helping fall a tree.

Rudolph, son of Rudolph and Mary Zeller, was born at New Glarus, Sept. 2, 1889, and died March 16, 1936, aged 46 years, 6 months and 14 days. His people came to this vicinity forty-two years ago, and "Rudy," as his friends called him, has made this his home since. He leaves to mourn his aged father and step mother, five brothers, Adolph, William and Henry of Milwaukee, John, of Chicago, Fred of Omaha; and two sisters, Mrs. Mary Cole, Humbird, and Matilda, Chicago; and two half-brothers, Alvis and Frank of La Crosse, besides several nieces and nephews. The mother, two sisters, Kate and Anna, and two brothers, Joseph and Arnold, preceded him in death.

Funeral services were held this Thursday afternoon at Kretschmer’s undertaking parlors, with Rev. W. J. Eberly officiating. Interment was in Mentor Cemetery.
