Giloy, Louise (1882 - 1936)

Mrs. Philip Giloy passed away at the hospital in Marshfield Tuesday morning, where she was a patient, following a major operation. She had rallied from the operation, which was performed on May 18th, but succumbed to a heart ailment. The remains were brought to M. Kretschmer’s undertaking parlors Tuesday evening. Funeral services will be held at the Reformed Church Friday afternoon, and burial will be in Alma Center Cemetery.

Louise Zimmerman, daughter of Herman and Lena Uecker Zimmerman, was born in the town of Pine Valley, Clark County, Wisconsin, March 10, 1882. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church when a young girl. She came with her parents to the farm in the town of Cleveland in the early ‘90s, which has been her home ever since. On July 4, 1900, she was united in marriage with Mr. Philip Giloy, and to this union then children were born, one of whom, Eveline Louise, passed away at the age of two years.

Mrs. Giloy has been in failing health for the past six months. She was taken to the hospital at Marshfield for an operation, from which she recovering nicely, but succumbed to a heart ailment on June 2, 1936, at the of 54 years, 2 months and 22 days.

Mourning her death are her husband, three daughters, Ella, now Mrs. John Mueller, Spencer; Amanda, now Mrs. Martin Fischer, Spencer; and Rosetta, at home; and six sons, all of whom are at home with their father; William, Clarence, Robert, Herbert, Vernon and Gerald. Two sisters and three brothers survive: Mrs. Martha Terrell, Humbird, and Mrs. Anna Gower, Alma Center, Reinhart Zimmerman, Disco, Robert Zimmerman, Fairchild, and Frank Zimmerman, Humbird; two brothers have passed away, Albert and Edwin. And many other relatives and friends mourn her death.

For more than twenty-five years Mrs. Giloy has been a faithful member of the Reformed Church in Humbird.

Funeral services for Mrs. Giloy were held at the Reformed Church last Friday afternoon, Rev. V. D. Weilder officiating, and burial was in the cemetery at Alma Center.
