Lucille A. Rohde

LOYAL -- Lucille A. Rohde, age 92, of Eau Claire, entered into eternal rest Thursday, April 19, 2007 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 23, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Loyal. The Rev. Daniel Zimmerman will officiate and burial will follow in Loyal Lutheran Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Dean, Douglas, Jay, Todd, Steven, Shannon and Greggory Rohde. Honorary pallbearers will be Tanya Wilke, Sonia Suda, Tamara Pfremmer, Kimberly Pfremmer, Julia Loehrl, Jennifer Rohde and Dana Mayne.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, April 22, at the Cuddie Funeral Home in Loyal and again from 10 a.m. until service time Monday at the church.

Lucille Anna Schwarze was born March 23, 1915, in Greenwood, the daughter of Ed and Ella (Humke) Schwarze. She married Gilbert C. Rohde on Sept. 9, 1937. They celebrated 62 years together and Gilbert died on Sept. 27, 1999. To this union was born five children, Gary, Richard, Alan, Gil Jr. and LeAnn.

Lucille attended Eau Claire Teacher's College and graduated in 1934. She worked in Chicago until 1935 and then taught at the Kippenhan School in Greenwood for two years. After she raised her children on the farm in the town of Eaton, Lucille worked at Greenwood Elementary School for 10 years. She served as president of Clark County Homemakers from 1954 to 1956, president of the Trinity Lutheran Church Women and was a 4-H leader. Lucille and Gilbert traveled to Zephyrhills, Fla., and spent 18 winters there after they retired in 1979. They moved to Eau Claire in January 1999 from their home on 26 Road in Greenwood.

Lucille will be sadly missed by her children, Gary (Helen) of River Falls, Richard (Marjorie) of Greenwood, Alan (Peggy) of Waukesha, Gil Jr. (Bonnie) of Woodbury, Minn. and LeAnn (Tom) Pfremmer of Eau Claire; her grandchildren, Dean (Laurie), Douglas (Pamela), Steven (Crystal) Rohde, Tanya (Bob) Wilke, Todd and Shannon Rohde, Sonia (Ben) Suda, Dana (Chris) Mayne and Jay Rohde, Julia (Todd) Loehrl, Jennifer and Greggory Rohde and Tamara and Kimberly Pfremmer; great-grandchildren, Jackson and Kaitlin Rohde, Mason, Madison and Maxx Rohde, Taylre, Ryleigh and Trevyn Wilke; and sisters-in-law, Alice Rohde of Eau Claire and Velma (John) Nibbe of Madison.

Lucille was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert, on Sept. 27, 1999; and her brothers, Walter and Ted.
