Melbinger, John (1843 - 13 APR 1933)

John Melbinger died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. F.X. Pritzl at Marshfield on Thursday of last week. He was born in Germany in 1843 and came to America with his parents when he was nine years of age. He was married to Mary Roble, who preceded him in death many years ago, on Nov. 5, 1870. Deceased came to Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.) in 1885 where he followed the occupation of farm life for many years.

A grandson, Father John Pritzl, officiated at the funeral services at St. John’s Church at Marshfield on Monday morning, after which the remains were brought to Thorp and interred in the Catholic Cemetery.

He is survived by two sons, Joseph Melbinger, Withee; John Melbinger, Marshfield; five daughters, Mrs. John Ziehr, Fredonia; Mrs. Pritzl, Marshfield; Mrs. U. Anderson, Madison; Mrs. Rose Prehn, Chicago; Mrs. Benjamin McCarthy, Milwaukee; thirty grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren. One daughter died in infancy, and another daughter, Mrs. William Buss, St. Paul, Minn., died in 1921.
