Meyer, Virginia A. (June 25, 1912 - April 8, 2007)

Virginia A. Meyer, age 94, died April 8, 2007, at Memorial Medical Center, Neillsville, Wis.

She was born June 25, 1912, in Sheboygan, WI to Fred and Clara (Gephardt) Wischmeyer. She received her education in Illinois. She was united in marriage to Wilhelm "Bill" Meyer in April of 1943, in Sioux Falls, S.D. After marriage, they resided in Lester, Iowa. They moved to Neillsville in 1946. Virginia was employed as a registered nurse from 1955-1982 at Neillsville Memorial Hospital Auxiliary Thrift Shop. She loved to read and crochet and enjoyed cooking and house-plants. Virginia was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church of Neillsville, Wis. She was also a member and held offices in the Hospital Auxiliary.

She is survived by one daughter, Mary (Larry) Dubois, of Neillsville; two sons, Samuel (Karen) MacGregor, of Park Falls, WI, and David Meyer, of Neillsville; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; one sister Louise Logsdon; and numerous cousins.

Funeral services for Virginia will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 12, at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Neillsville, with Rev. Timothy Biebert officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, from 4-8 p.m. at Buchanan Funeral Home, Neillsville, and from 10-11 a.m. Thursday at the church. Burial will be at Dells Dam Cemetery, Town of Levis.
