Campbell, Myra (16 Nov. 1869 - 29 June 1882)

Campbell - At her home in Neillsville, Clark County, Wis., June 29th, 1882, Mrs. Myra Campbell, aged 35 years, 8 months and 28 days.

Mrs. Campbell was the daughter of J. H. and Lurancy Youmans, and was born in Java, Wyoming County, N. Y. She was married Nov. 16, 1869, to William Campbell, of Poynette, Wis., and came with her husband to Neillsville in 1871. She leaves three children, two daughters, and one son. She united with the Presbyterian Church of Neillsville, Feb. 24th, 1878. Her disease was cancer, and for several weeks her sufferings were intense, all of which she bore with wonderful fortitude and patience. Fond parents hastened from Hermitage, New York, to do all in their power for her comfort and during the last weeks of her suffering, a sister Mrs. Emma Hamlin, now of Minneapolis, Minn., also watched ay and night, hoping thereby to add comfort and joy in the days of adversity. And most of all a faithful husband lost rest both day and night in order that the suffering one might know of his constant presence.

The funeral was attended from the residence on Saturday last. Her pastor, Rev. W. T. Hendren, in a very short discourse paid a touching and beautiful tribute to her memory. She was faithful and true, pure and loving in all the relations of life. She will be missed in society and in church; but most of all at home. Throughout this entire community there is but one sentiment and one feeling, but our loss is her eternal grain. Long will her memory be cherished, and blessed will be the influence of her holy example.
