Dumke, Bertha (11 SEP 1866 - 16 NOV 1935)

Mrs. Fred Dumke, 69, died at her home in the Town of Worden (Clark Co., Wis.) of diabetes on Nov. 16, 1935.

Bertha Hiller Dumke was born in Barenbach, Germany on Sept. 11, 1866, coming to America on April 25, 1885, and lived at Joliet and Waseca, Ill., until 1914 when she came to Stanley, Wis.

On April 25, 1886 she was united in marriage to Fred Dumke of Joliet, Ill. Eighteen children were born to this union, eight of whom survive, six sons, Louis, Neenah; Fred, Joliet, Arthur, Ernest, Walter and Clarence of Stanley; two daughters, Mrs. Charles Mu??ch, Neenah, and Minnie Dumke, Stanley. Other surviving relatives are two brothers, Gust Hiller of Plainfield, Ill., and Theo. Hiller of Alpine, Mich., 9 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at the Norwegian Lutheran Church at Stanley Tuesday afternoon, Rev. F.H. Sprengler of Thorp officiating and interment taking place in the Stanley City Cemetery.

Pallbearers were: Ed Karlen, Leo Dulek, Peter Henke, Nels Larson, Dewey Krueger and Jack Wry.
