Harry, Lena (23 Sept. 1883 - 20 Mar. 1930)

Funeral services for Mrs. William Harry, whose death was chronicled in the Phonograph last week, were held at the St. Mary’s Catholic church Tuesday, March 25th, Rev. H. Lachnit officiating, and internment was made in the Colby cemetery.

The deceased, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Happle, was born in Colby, Wisconsin, September 23rd, 1883, thus reaching the age of 46 years, 5 months and 27 days. She was married to Wm. Harry at Colby on May 10th, 1904, who survives her. She died last Thursday, March 20th, at the hospital at Chippewa Falls, complications of diseases being the cause of her departure to the heavenly goal. Her death is also mourned by one sister, Mrs. Peter Demmer of Centralia, Wash., and one brother, Peter Happle of Minneapolis.

Mrs. Harry’s sickness was of but a brief duration, just ten days. Seemingly with us today, active in life’s round of duty and love, but gone tomorrow. She was a good Christian with strong home instincts and her affection for friends and kindred was tender and abiding.

Those from out of town here for the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Peter Happle, Minneapolis; Mrs. Peter Demmer, Centralia, Washington; A. P. Demmer and Alma E. Harry, Minneapolis, Minnesota, Mrs. A. Zube, Mrs. A. Schrameyer and Mrs. J. Holling, Sheboygan; Fred Harry, Chippewa Falls; John Mais, Medford; Mrs. M. Schram, Glencoe, Illinois; Mrs. A. McKinnon, St. Paul; Mrs. John Orth Sr., Mr. and Mrs. Peter Orth, and Mrs. Chas. Eichlipp, Phillips; Mr. L. W. Harry and family, Marshfield.

*** Note: Mrs. Harry’s first name is from the Colby - St. Mary’s Cemetery index on this site.
