Kriplean, Anna (8 Mar. 1895 - 6 Oct. 1930)

Mrs. A. J. Kriplean died suddenly at the Medford clinic Monday afternoon at 3:30, embolism, of but a few minutes duration, being the cause of her departure to the distant shore. Mrs. Kriplean had been operated on for the removal of a tumor the Monday previous to her death. Funeral services were held this Thursday morning at 9:00 o’clock at the St. Mary’s Catholic church, Rev. H. Lachnit officiating, and internment was made in the Colby Catholic cemetery.

The pallbearers were Conrad Niggeman, Frank Seidel, A. X. Umhoefer, C. J. Krause, A. R. Hemmey, and E. R. Schultz.

Mr. Kriplean, proprietor of the Buick and Marquette garage, was in Milwaukee at the time of her death, for he, as well as the doctors at Medford, felt that Mrs. Kriplean was getting along nicely and would be home soon. The deceased is also survived by three daughters - Marie, age fourteen; Marcele, age ten; Rita, age six; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Mike Bush of Stetsonville; two brothers and three sisters - Edward Bush, Stetsonville; John Bush, Stetsonville; Mrs. Vincent Kronig, Stevens Point; Mrs. John Brost, Medford; Theresa, at home.

The deceased was born on March 8th, 1895, at Stetsonville, Wis., thus reaching the age of thirty-five years, six months and twenty-eight days. Her father, Mike Bush, was born in Germany and her mother, Theresa Dietzler Bush, was born in Appleton, Wis. She was married to Anton J. Kriplean at Medford, Wis., on December 29th, 1915, which union was blessed with three children.

The deceased had been a faithful and prominent member of the St. Mary’s congregation, and, at the time of her death, was president of the Christian Mother’s Society. She also was a member of the Women’s Catholic Order of Foresters. Invariably, she was of cheerful disposition and her friends of Colby were many, and, when the word was whispered about our city that she had died suddenly, the expressions of sympathy were many and came from the heart.

Many people from out of town were here in Colby last Thursday for the funeral of Mrs. A. J. Kriplean and were Mr. and Mrs. Frank Kriplean, Peshtigo; Mr. and Mrs. John Krueger, Brillion; Mrs. Mary Novak, New Richmond; Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Krueger and two children, Brillion; Mrs, Edward Trieble and daughter, Dorothy, North Fond du Lac; Mr. and Mrs. V. J. Kraenig, Stevens Point; Mrs. Lena Van and son Milton; Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Kraeing, Stanley; Mr. and Mrs. Edward Goedert and two children, Mrs. H. Kriplean, Mr. and Mrs. Nick Pausenbach, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Deitzler, Mr. and Mrs. John Brobst, all of Medford; Mr. and Mrs. Mike Busch and children and Mrs. and Mrs. Emil Deitzler and children and the Rev. Joseph Gleissner of Stetsonville. The floral tributes were in charge of the Misses Regine Tessmer, Bernadette Kraus, Mary Umhoefer and Genevieve Krepsky.
