Daellenbach, Elizabeth (13 JAN 1847 - 6 MAY 1936)

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the St. Peter’s Lutheran Church for Mrs. John Daellenbach, who passed away Wednesday at her Proctor, Minn. Home after a week’s illness. The services were conducted by the Rev. J. Brandt. Interment was made in the Memorial Cemetery with Otto and John Busse, Arthur and Heber Baehr, Albert Fenske and Henry Beisner acting as pallbearers.

Elizabeth Hodel was born at Otterbech, Switzerland on Jan. 13, 1847 and was 89 years, 3 months and 22 days old at time of death. She grew to young womanhood there and in November of 1876 she was united in marriage to John Daellenbach. They came to the United States in 1882, arriving in Dorchester (Clark Co., Wis.) in May and settle on their farm home two and one-half miles south of here, where they lived until 1924 when they left for Proctor. Since Mr. Daellenbach’s death in 1929, Mrs. Daellenbach has been spending most of her time with her daughters at Proctor.

Eight children were born to the Daellenbachs, one of them preceding Mrs. Daellenbach in death. She leaves two daughters, Mrs. W.D. Cox, nee Bertha, and Mrs. Herman Hoffman, nee Emma, both of Proctor, Minn., and five sons, John and Fred Daellenbach of Dorchester, Christ of Siren, Emil of Great Falls, Mont. and Paul of Brockside, Mont. She also leaves twenty-seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

The many friends of the Daellenbachs join us in offering them deepest sympathy.

Among the out of town relatives and friends attending the services were Miss Leona Daellenbach of Wilmette, Ill., Arnold Daellenbach and Mrs. Hattie Lyons of Watersmeet, Mich., Mrs. Albert Hyatt of Norwalk, Mr. and Mrs. Emil Daellenbach and son, Jimmy, of Abbotsford, Miss Dorothy Cox of Prairie du Chien and Miss Audrey Hoffman of Minneapolis.
