Obit: Patten, Milton (15 May 1850 - 1913)

Milton, Patten, youngest son of Thomas and Mila Patten was born in Chaton Co., Indiana May 15, 1850 and with his parents came to Wisconsin in 1864 settling in the town of Forest, Richland Co. where he grew to manhood.

He was united in marriage in 1873 to Mary A Parker of the same county. Eight children were born to them, Lewis, Ella, John, Mila, Joseph, Ina, Lydia and Cora. His wife and 2 sons, Lewis and Joseph have preceded him to the Spirit World.He came to Worden Township, Clark Co. in 1901 and five years later his wife passed away. He was married a second time in February 1912 to Mrs. Esther Sharp who survives him, along with a brother, John Patten, a minister in the Worden Church, and a sister, Mrs. C. E. Turner also residing in this vicinity. He was a member of the Church of the Brethren for about 30 years until his death.

Funeral services in the Worden Church by Rev. W. H. Greenawalt assisted by the Elder W. H. Byer. Interment in the cemetery adjoining.
