Gilberts, Jane Ann (May 5, 1928 - June 28, 2007)

Jane Ann Gilberts, age 89, of Thorp, formerly of Stanley, died at Oakbrook Health & Rehab on Thursday, June 28, 2007 at 5:10 a.m.

Jane Ann Huls was born on May 5, 1918 in Thorp, WI, the daughter of Henry and Hazel (Graham) Huls. Jane was united in marriage to Leonard Larson on October 18, 1939. After farming a number of years, they moved into Stanley where they raised their two children. Leonard died on February 9, 1969. On April 25, 1970, Jane married Perry Gilberts and spent many happy years restoring and re-upholstering furniture, fishing, canning, and enjoying her flowers and garden. Perry died on October 19, 1992. Jane moved to Oakbrook Health & Rehab in June of 2001, where she spent many enjoyable years spreading joy and laughter among the residents and staff.

Jane will be sadly missed by her son, Bobby (Barb) Larson of Cudahy, WI; four grandsons: Brian Larson, Jeff Petersen, Eric Petersen, and Tim Petersen; one sister, Cretia Paff of Thorp; son-in-law, Gary Petersen of Thorp; sister-in-law, Ann Huls of Thorp; niece, Judy Jacque of Thorp; close friend, Ginnie Kiewra of Thorp; and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Leonard Larson and Perry Gilberts; one daughter, Patty Petersen on May 26, 1999; one sister, Eunice Jacque; and one brother, Bill Huls.

At her request, no services will be held.

Thorp Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
