Tifft, Stella #2 (1881 - 23 DEC 1899)

The light of life passed from one of the most amiable of mortals Saturday morning, an hour past midnight, and death obliterated the fair work of nature. Stella Tifft of this city (Neillsville, Clark Co., Wis.), died of consumption, aged 18 years, following by some three years her elder sister to the grave, whose death resulted from the same disease. The stricken family has the deep sympathy of all. Their affliction falling within a day of the gay Christmastide seemed to accent the loss of the beloved daughter and sister.

Deceased was the daughter of J.H. Tifft of Eau Claire and Mrs. J.E. Tift of this city, owner of the Republican and Press.

The funeral was held Sunday afternoon, at the Congregational Church, of which she was a member, a large concourse of friends attending. Rev. Longenecker performed the ceremony. The burial was in the lot in the local cemetery, amid the unspeakable grief of the devoted mother and those about her.
