Hughes, Elizabeth (29 May 1847 - 19 Mar. 1934)

Funeral services for Mrs. Owen Hughes of Abbotsford, whose death was chronicled last week, were held at the Presbyterian church at Abbotsford Thursday afternoon, Rev. L. C. Smith officiating, and internment was made in the Abbotsford cemetery. Pallbearers were R. H. Treat, Charles Hoffman, F. B. Wing, Dr. J. A. Rilling, all of Abbotsford, Ralph Green of Curtiss and Harry Garbisch of Dorchester, Wis.

The deceased was born in Holyhead, North Wales, May 29, 1847, and was married there on May 29th, 1867, to Owen Hughes. They came to the United States in 1881 and to Abbotsford one year later where they resided ever since. Mrs. Hughes is survived by her husband and three sisters - Mrs. Owen Thomas and Mrs. G. Morgan of Oak Park, Ill., and Mrs. John Davis of North Wales.

Out of town people here for the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Owen Thomas and Mrs. G. Morgan, Oak Park, Ill.; Mrs. Owen S. Hughes, Lake Crystal, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Everetts and Dr. Edward Everetts, Milwaukee; Mrs. Leonard Underhill, Chippewa Falls; Mr. and Mrs. Warren Seily and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Graff, Minneapolis; Mr. and Mrs. Bere Everetts and son, Milwaukee; and Mrs. Earl Cooper, Mrs. M. C. Bunnell, Mrs. George Tardiff, Mrs. William Gavin, Mrs. Merle Fisher, Mrs. Martin Warbroil, Mrs. Andrew Sprague, Mrs. A. L. Halstad and Miss Edith Emling, Stevens Point.
