The Rev. G. E. Neuman, pastor of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran church of Rib Falls, performed the ceremony at the church at 2 o’clock last Saturday afternoon in the presence of a large gathering of friends. The church had been decorated with purple and white lilacs and other flowers of the season.

Miss Evelyn Luedtke of Merrill attended as maid of honor, Lenard Wilde of Rib Falls was best man and the other attendants included Mr. and Mrs. Fred Schmelzer of Colby, Miss Verna Lueck of Rib Falls and Harry Bauman of Edgar. Esabelle Wilde of Rub Falls, who acted as flower girl, was dressed in pink crepe and carried a basket of flowers. Master Milton Gutknecht of Rib Falls, who was ringbearer, was dressed in white and carried the ring on a pillow of rose petals.

The maid of honor’s frock was of turquoise blue crepe tied with a sash of pink satin. She also wore a pink satin ribbon in her hair. Miss Lueck wore a peach crepe frock with organdy ruffles and Mrs. Schmelzer a frock of yellow crepe. The three carried arm bouquets of mixed flowers. The bride’s bouquet was a shower of pink roses and white sweet peas.

The home of the bride’s parents had been decorated with streamers in pastel shades, looped up with a white wedding bell, and a decorated wedding cake and spring flowers decorated the bridal table. One hundred guests attended the reception and dinner at the bride’s home and were joined by others later in the evening at Koehler’s hall at Rib Falls for dancing.

Upon their return from a trip to Indiana the couple will reside with the bridegroom’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Julius Schmelzer of the town of Hull.
