Sczygiel, Olive (6 NOV 1937)

Wedding bells chimed gaily early Saturday morning, Nov. 6th, 1937, when Olive, daughter of Mrs. John Sczygiel of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), was joined in holy wedlock with Mr. Russell Bothe, son of Mrs. Augusta Bothe of Chicago, by Rev. F.A. Kulig, at a six o’clock mass at St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church.

The couple was attended by Ralph Schuehman, Chicago, and Miss Lottie Sczygiel, sister of the bride, as best man and bridesmaid, and the bride’s brother, Stanley, and Miss Helen Deppisch of Milwaukee. Lorraine Sczygiel acted as flower girl.

The bride was attired in a gown of white brocaded velvet with a long train. Her head was adorned with a wreath of orange blossoms and she wore a long veil, carrying a bouquet of white chrysanthemums. Her bridesmaids and flower girl wore long dubonette color velvet dresses, with veiled headdress of silver flowers, and carried yellow chrysanthemums. The groom and his attendants wore full dress suits.

The reception and dinner which followed the ceremony was held at the American Legion Hall and a dance was enjoyed in the evening.

The bride and groom left on Sunday for their home in Chicago where the groom is employed as a stockroom clerk and musician. The best wishes of numerous friends of this vicinity followed them on their journey.

Out of town guests attending were: Mr. and Mrs. Frank Ludtka and family, Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Szopinski and daughter Geraldine, Chicago; Mr. Szyjewski and daughter Gene, Chicago; Miss Phyllis Spencer, Miss Ann Yumic, Robert Elliot, Leo Kaminsky and Miss Agnes Hmielak, Edward Beside, Chicago; Mrs. P.
