Hedler, Frank & Ellen (Gold - 15 NOV 1937)

Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hedler celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary at the Legion Hall on Monday, Nov. 15th, 1937.

Ellen Crowley and Frank Hedler were married at St. Bernard’s Church by Rev. Father Untrant, Nov. 15th, 1887. They were the second couple to be married in the church.

Ten children were born to this union, namely: Frank (deceased); Mrs. (Margaret) Nick Gengler of Medford; Clara, Ollie, Fred, Tom, Mrs. (Harriet) E.G. Schmidt, Leon and Leland, all of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.). They with their mother and father, attended mass at eight o’clock Monday morning. A delicious dinner and supper were served to the family, relatives and a few old friends. A dance was given in the evening to friends, neighbors and relatives.

Mr. and Mrs. Hedler have lived continuously on their farm int eht town of Reseburg, southeast of Thorp, where their children were brought up. They took an active part in the civic affairs of the town and have stood well, the trails and tribulations of fifty years past which included the bringing up of a large family.

"The Courier" join their large list of friends in extending congratulations upon this memorable occasion.

The out of town people who attended were: Mr. and Mrs. Plinney Warren, Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Buchel, Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. E.J. Berendsen, Antigo; Mr. and Mrs. August Leafler, Milan; Mrs. Hilda Zell, Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. Keith Ambrose, Marshfield; Miss Anita Zell and Melvin Bell, Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. Nick Gengler and family, Medford.
