Switalski, Mrs. Frank (1861? - 14 FEB 1938)

Mrs. Frank Switalski, 76, after a long illness of eight years, died at her home at 5714 Dakin St., Chicago, Ill., on Feb. 14, 1938. She leaves to mourn, her husband and seven children, Tony, Frank and Leon, Mrs. Mary Zukowski, Mrs. Josephine Zaborowski, Mrs. Helen Bednarski and Mrs. Vina Slatala, and 10 grandchildren, also a brother, Louis Glamkowski of Thorp.

Mrs. Switalski came to Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.) with her husband from New York in 1890.

They were one of the pioneer settlers. For ten years they resided three miles east of Thorp on the old Johnson’s Logging campsite. After remaining in Thorp for thirty-five years they went to Chicago, their present home.

On Feb. 12th they celebrated their golden wedding anniversary.

Solemn funeral services were held at St. Konstance Church on Thursday, Feb. 17th, attended by many relatives and friends. Among them were some old friends from Thorp.

Miss Elba Sundstrom rendered two violin solos during the Mass, "Ave Maria," by Bach; "Gounoud" and "Andante" by Thome. A solo was sung be Mrs. Chester Sudrzelczyk, "Gdy Serce Drzy," by Moniuszko.

She was laid to rest at St. Adelbert’s Cemetery.

May she rest in peace.
