Selby, Jane (27 AUG 1938)

Mr. Arthur Szymanski, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ignatz Szymanski of the town of Withee (Clark Co., Wis.), and Miss Jane Selby, daughter of Mrs. Helen Selby of this village (Thorp, Clark Co.), were joined in the holy bonds of matrimony by Rev. A.M. Muckerheide at St. Bernard’s Church, Saturday morning last.

The bride was beautifully gowned in white satin with a train, her veil of crown effect being gathered with silver ornaments. She carried a white prayer book and a bouquet of roses.

Bridesmaids were Miss Leona Selby, who was attired in aqua lace over taffeta, trimmed with peach, and a headdress of and shoulder veil of peach, and Miss Edna Szymanski in blue lace trimmed with pink, with a pink headdress and shoulder veil to match. Miss Selby carried a bouquet of peach colored roses, while Miss Szymanski’s bouquet was of pink roses.

Miss Marjorie Slota, maid of honor, was gowned in peach marquisette, and wore a peach headdress and aqua shoulder veil. She carried a bouquet of roses.

Attending the bridegroom were Louis Szymanski and Victor Revolinski. The bridegroom and his attendants wore tuxedos with white gardenias as boutonnieres.

About 250 relatives and friends attended the reception, wedding dinner and supper after the ceremony at the home of the bridegroom’s parents, and a dance was given in the evening. After a short honeymoon the happy couple will be at home at their farm northeast of Thorp.
