Degenhardt, Frank (7 Apr. 1906 - 2 Dec. 1993)

Loyal - Services for Frank Degenhardt, 87, Loyal, who died 5:53 p.m. Dec. 2, 1993, at his home, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Loyal.

The Rev. Roman Kaiser will officiate. Burial will be in St. Anthony’s Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jim, Bruce, David, Marty and Dennis Degenhardt and Rodney Schmidt.

Visitation will be at Rinka Funeral Home, Loyal, from 4-9 p.m. Sunday with a prayer service at 8.

He was born April 7, 1906, in Loyal, to the late Martin and Katherine (Buss) Degenhardt. He attended elementary school in Loyal. He married Gertrude Vogel April 30, 1924, in Loyal.

He farmed with his father until his marriage and then moved to Milwaukee and worked in an auto body plant for five years. He and his wife then moved back to Loyal where he farmed with his father for five more years. He then purchased and operated Frank’s Bar, now Spanky’s for 40 years before retiring in 1974.

He was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. He was a Loyal City Councilman for 35 years and served as a supervisor on the Clark County Board for several years. He was also director at Citizens State Bank in Loyal.

He is survived by his wife; four sons, Albert of Milwaukee, Don of Antigo, Ken of Milwaukee and Harvey of Loyal; three daughters, Mrs. Bob (Darlene) Klann of Dousman, Mrs. Joe (Sue) Kohlnhofer of Brookfield and Mrs. Dick (Nancy) Schmidt of Waukesha; one sister, Julie Michalski of Marshfield; 32 grandchildren; and 44 great-grandchildren.
