Locals

Mrs. Louis Kauffman of Loyal is spending a few weeks in the home of her son, Ray Kauffman, and family. Mrs. Kauffman and sons, Larry and Jerry, driving up to get her Sunday.

Mr. and Mrs. Albert Smith and daughter, Lorraine, and Mr. and Mrs. Tony Hantke and son, Donald, drove to Devils Lake Sunday to fish, also visiting points in that section of the state.

D. E. Peters and John Rude of this city, B. F. Johnson, Eau Claire, W. Jordon, New Richmond and Mr. Murphy, Rick Lake, went to Birchwood and other fishing haunts last Friday to spent several days. Meanwhile Mrs. Peters went to Johnson Creek to visit relatives, Mrs. Rude and daughter, Barbara going to Marshfield on Wednesday morning to spent the balance of the week with relatives.

Mrs. Allen Randall and daughter, Vivian, of Augusta came over last Thursday for an indefinite visit with Mr. and Mrs. Albert Degener.

Mrs. Mary Blakeslee and daughter, Miss Alice, and three grandchildren; Mary Catherine, Alice Louise and Frances Elizabeth, all of Minneapolis, spent from Friday until Monday here with Miss Minnie Herian and with the Henry Herian family.

Mrs. Albert Barton of the town of Weston had dinner and spent Sunday afternoon with her father, Joseph Prock, at the Nick Linster home. Alfred Spaete, who purchased the Schroeder stock of merchandise at Granton some time ago, was a Neillsville caller Monday. His eldest daughter, Lydia is assisting him in the store. Mrs. Spaete and their two younger children are at Rice Lake, Mrs. Spaete assisting Paul Spaete in the store there.

Mr. and Mrs. John Verschay, Jr., returned to Chicago Sunday after a week’s vacation with Mr. and Mrs. John Verschay, Sr., of Willard. Mrs. Val Jeras, Jr., of Brookfield, Ill., also returned with them after an extended vacation with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Verschary of Willard.

Mr. and Mrs. R. W. Christensen, Madison, and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Christensen, Necedah, spent the weekend here with Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Schmedel and family. Mrs. R. W. Christensen is the former Miss Betty Schmedel.
