Johnson, Lena (30 MAR 1874 - 14 OCT 1937)

Mrs. Albert G. Johnson passed away at her home in the city (Owen, Clark Co., Wis.) Thursday evening, Oct. 14, 1937. She had been under a doctor’s care for the past several months and was being treated for multiple myloma, but the past month her condition grew worse. She peaceably slept away at 9:30 p.m. Thursday evening. She was 63 years of age.

Funeral services were held at two o’clock Sunday afternoon at the Congregational Church, which was filled by her many friends. Rev. P.F. Pfaffman officiated at the service. Interment was at Riverside Cemetery.

Lena Johnson was born March 30, 1874 in Norway. She later moved with her parents to this country, where she met and married Albert Johnson at Eau Claire. To this union were born two sons, Floyd, deceased, and Arnold Jerome of Wis. Rapids; two daughters, Mrs. Henry Weddig of Owen and Mrs. Clark Merriman of Chillicothe, Ill. She also leaves five sisters who mourn her passing, Mrs. Jack Gallimore of Los Angeles, Calif., Mrs. Kennedy of Butternut, Mrs. Tom Berg of Eau Claire, Mrs. A.B. Arnidson of California, and Mrs. Thompson of Chicago. Her husband preceded her in death several years ago.

Mrs. Johnson was a faithful, kind and loving woman and had a sunny disposition, jovial with her friends, courteous to those of different opinion, and a faithful and consistent friend. She was always a loving and worthy mother to her family.

Mrs. Johnson was a member of the Congregational Church of which she was a faithful and willing worker up to the time of her illness.

Her passing creates a loss that is not only felt by her immediate family but by the community as well.

Pallbearers at the service were Arthur Wilson, Harvey Wedding, Geo. Winrich, Vandi Shereda, Louis Bulgrin and L.W. Cattanach.
