Klemetson, Lawrence (8 May 1914 - 12 Sept. 2007)

CURTISS -- Lawrence Klemetson, 93, died Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2007, at the Colonial Center in Colby.

Memorial services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 20, 2007, at the Norwegian Cemetery, west of Curtiss, Wis.

Lawrence was born May 8, 1914, in Curtiss to Morris and Katheryn (Schiszik) Klemetson. He was a World War II veteran, serving in Germany, France and England. He worked in Chicago. He married Joyce Long on Oct. 26, 1946. They lived in Curtiss and had six children. Lawrence worked as a carpenter for Uhlig Construction until he retired. He and Joyce divorced in 1974. Lawrence enjoyed building things, including his home.

Surviving are Joyce, his dearest friend; three daughters, Judy Klemetson Quante of Withee, Diane (Allen) Dunow of Texas, Lyn (Larry) Duda of Loyal; two sons, Larry (Melinda) Klemetson of Phillips, and Dennis (Nancy) Klemetson of New Hampshire. In addition to his children, he is survived by 24 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.
