Sommer, Eileen (Marriage - 5 Dec. 1939)

Miss Eileen Sommer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Sommer of Curtiss, and Harley Hardrath, son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Hardrath of Green Grove, P. O. Owen, Wis., were united in marriage December 5th at 3:00 P.M. at the St. Paul’s Lutheran parsonage at Green Grove, Rev. M. C. Goetsch reading the marriage ceremony. Grayce Dietrich, the bride’s cousin, was maid of honor and Lucille Gardner was bridesmaid. The groom was attended by his brother, Richard Hardrath, and Donald Sommer, the bride’s brother.

The bride was attired in a gown of blue selanese taffeta trimmed with wine velvet and a finger tip veil trimmed with seed pearls and a double row of lace edging. Her sandals were of white and gold. Her bouquet consisted of wine and white snapdragons with ferns. The maid of honor wore a dress of ruby rose celanese taffeta with bustle back with a hat of rose net. Her corsage consisted of yellow and white snapdragons. The bridesmaid wore a dress of rose moiré taffeta with a hat of rose net and her corsage consisted of yellow and white snapdragons.

A reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents at six o’clock, the home being nicely decorated with blue, rose and white streamers with a large wedding cake as a centerpiece. In the evening, a wedding dance was given at the Atwood hall. The young couple will make their home on the groom’s farm near Owen, Wis.

Wedding guests included Mr. and Mrs. Louis Hardrath and sons, Alexander and Richard, Mr. and Mrs. Roscoe Alexander and children, Miss Lucille Gardner, Mrs. Pauline Sommer, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Woik, Mrs. Grayce Dietrich, Mrs. Lydia Laabs, Miss Vernetta Laabs, all of Owen, Mr. William Scheel of Loyal, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Schutte of Riplinger and Mrs. Theresa Woik of Curtiss, Wis.
