Kowalk, Nona (7 Mar. 1896 - 21 Dec. 1939)

Mrs. Ernest Kowalk of Unity died at the Marshfield, Wisconsin, hospital Thursday morning, at the age of 43 years, where she was receiving treatments for broncho-pneumonia and other complications. Funeral services were conducted at the Lulloff Funeral Home in Colby Saturday afternoon, Rev. Franklin Albrecht, pastor of St. John’s Lutheran church of Riplinger officiating, and internment was made in the Colby cemetery. The pall bearers were William Domer, Ervin Martens, Joseph Bub, Harvey Miller, Harold Kasper, Sylvester Tennis. Those in charge of the flowers were Beulah Witte, Winifred Martens, Berdine Molle, Marie Vanderwyst, Audrey Gries and Marcia Gries.

The deceased was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Wonders of Mannville and was born in Argyle on March 7, 1896. She was married at Marshfield Dec. 28th, 1932, to Ernest Kowalk, For the past ten years she lived on a farm west of Unity.

Surviving besides her husband are three children, Laura Wolfe of Marshfield, Constance Wolfe at home and Therlow Wolfe of Colby. Also two sisters and two brothers - Laura Winters of Wisconsin Rapids, Mrs. Ale Bee of Seattle, Wash., Levi Wonders of Greeley, Neb., and George Wonders, Jr., of Mannville. One brother, Richard, preceded her in death.
