Christensen, Stella (14 Aug. 1904 - 26 July 2007)

Stella Christensen, 102, died July 26, 2007, at the Pine View Care Center in Black River Falls, Wisconsin. Funeral services for Stella will be held at 11 a.m., Friday at St. Lukes Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Rapids. The Rev. Timothy Wenger will officiate. Burial will be in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Arpin.

Stella was born on Aug. 14, 1904, in Granton, the daughter of Leo and Anna (Barth) Kleinschmidt. She attended school in the Granton area. On Sept. 22, 1928, she was united in marriage to Knute Christensen. They lived in several different locations throughout central Wisconsin. They later divorced.

She is survived by a son, Emeron (Phyllis) Christensen of Onalaska; eight grandchildren, Diane (Ronald) Linzmeier, Kenneth (Deborah) Fountaine, Beverly (Donn) Spencer, Carol (Daniel) Cornwell, all of Wisconsin Rapids, Joanne (James) Coenen of Rudolph, Kim (Edward) Boutet of Hillsborough, N.J., Lynn Christensen of Denver, Colo. and Heidi (Shawn) Levendusky of Maple Grove, Minn.

She also is survived by 16 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchilden.

Stella was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Marian, a grandson, David and one great grandchild.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday at the church prior to the service. The Gesche Funeral Home of Neillsville is assisting Stella's family with arrangements.
