Howe, Elson (29 MAR 1868 - 22 APR 1939)

Elson Howe was born in the Town of Lincoln, Eau Claire Co., Wis., March 29, 1868, where he grew to manhood. On Jan. 1, 1891, he was united in marriage to Miss Jennie Birch. Two children were born to this union. One daughter, now Mrs. Grace Belden, of Bonners Ferry, Idaho, and one son, who died in infancy. His wife preceded him in death on Oct. 14th, 1936. Since the death of his wife he made his home with his sister, Mrs. Dave Butler, where he passed away suddenly on Saturday morning, April 22, 1939. Funeral services were held at the Dave Butler home on Monday, April 24, Rev. Donnley of Augusta officiating, interment taking place in the cemetery at Fairchild. He leaves to mourn his departure, his daughter, Mrs. Grace Beldon, nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Dave Butler, and many other relatives and friends.

Ellie, as he was lovingly called by his friends, was a kind and loving husband and father, a good neighbor and friend, and was liked by all who knew him.

Pallbearers were: E.A. Shoemaker, Pirl Burrington, Jack Conklin, Arthur Morrison, Curtiss Mayenschein, J. Audorff and Mack Butler.
