Schuler, Arline (Marriage - 30 July 1941)

The altar of St. Paul’s Evangelical and Reformed church of the Town of Russell was attractively decorated with garden flowers and lighted tapers for the wedding of Miss Arline Schuler and Harvey Marx which took place on Wednesday afternoon at 3:00 o’clock. The Rev. Karl J. Ernst read the double ring ceremony which united the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Schuler and the only son of Mr. and Mrs. John Marx of Colby, Wis.

The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, was attired in white marquisette velveray made with a fitted bodice, short puffed sleeves and a long train. Her finger tip veil of illusion, which was trimmed with lace, was held by a tiara of beads and seed pearls from which fell a blusher. The sweetheart neckline of her dress was complemented with a cameo brooch which was a gift from her bridegroom. For something old, the bride carried a handkerchief which her aunt, Mrs. Alfred Matthias had at her wedding. She carried a bouquet of white Kilarney roses and Maid of Orleans gladiolus with a shower of white centurias.

The maid of honor, Miss Viola Pfeifer, wore a gown of blue chiffon with lace insertions and a fitted bodice with a tiara of matching flowers from which hung a shoulder length of Briarcliff roses and yellow gladiolus.

Attending as bridesmaid was Miss Ruth Schuler, cousin of the bride, who wore a yellow chiffon dress similar to that of the maid of honor. Her bouquet consisted of Joanna Hill roses and lavender gladiolus.

Attired in a pink net dress was little Lois Meiger, cousin of the groom, who served as flower girl. She carried a colonial bouquet of pink and blue centurias and pink rose buds.

Delmar Schuler, brother of the bride, attended as best man and Wallace Marx, cousin of the groom, as groomsman. Ushers were Norman Conrad and Orville Marx.

A wedding dinner was served to 100 guests at the church parlors followed by a large reception at the home of the bride’s parents.

The bride is a graduate of the Elkhart Lake High School and the groom of the Colby, Wis. High School. The groom is employed at the Adelich Auto Service in Sheboygan where the couple will make their home.
