Burhop, Velma (Marriage - 6 Aug. 1941)

The wedding of Miss Velma Burhop, niece of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Lindner of Colby, to Orville Mengel of Owen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Mengel, occurred at two o’clock on Wednesday, Aug. 6th, at the Lutheran parsonage in Hudson. The Rev. Oscar Thompson read the service.

The bride wore a light blue suit with navy and white accessories and a shoulder corsage of pink roses and a gold locket, a gift from the groom.

The bride chose her sister, Miss Evon Burhop, of Dudas, Minn., as her bridesmaid, and she also wore a suit of tan and brown with white accessories, with a shoulder corsage of yellow roses and a string of pearls, a gift from the bride.

The groom’s attendant was Robert Thili, a nephew, of Eau Claire.

After a short wedding trip Mr. and Mrs. Mengel are at home at Owen, Wisconsin.
