Mattausch, Delores A. #2 (22 AUG 1940)

At a beautiful double ring ceremony Miss Delores Amelia Mattausch, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Mattausch of Alma, and Edgar John Wendt, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Wendt of route 1, Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), were united in marriage at the home of the bride on Thursday, Aug. 22, 1940. The service was performed by Rev. Kurzweg of Praag.

The bride, becomingly gowned in a princess style white satin dress trimmed with lace, wore a head crown of seeded pearls and a veil, and carried a bouquet of white lilies. She was given away in marriage by her father and was attended by Alice Wendt, sister of the groom, as maid of honor, and Esther Everson and Mrs. Art Wehrman, as bridesmaids.

The groom was attended by best man, Lester Mattausch, brother of the bride, and Ed Franz and Art Wehrman, all of whom wore dark suits. After the service the bride’s parents entertained at a reception and dinner for the young couple’s friends at their home at Alma and in the evening a free wedding dance was held at Praag. Monday evening the couple entertained their friends of this community at a free wedding dance at Merry Ol" Gardens.

Wendt of Loyal; William and George Miller, Mr. and Mrs. Art Wehrman and family, Mr. and Mrs. T. Karnitz and family and Edwin Franz of Greenwood; and Mrs. Mary Karnitz of Neillsville, Wis.
