Milton was born April 16, 1924, to Albert and Irene (Happe) Lindow in the town of Fremont. In 1880, Milton's grandfather, Gustav Lindow, had purchased 40 acres of land ($6 a acre) in section 27 of the town of Fremont. Fortunately, he was a lumberjack. This was wilderness with no roads. He cleared the land and built a log cabin and barn. He and his new wife, Rosina (Jansch) Lindow, established a home and in time had a family of six children; Laura, Bertha, Charles, Albert, Lydia and William.

Milton grew up on the family farm untill they moved to Chili in 1969. He often reminisced about memories in regard to the farm and people he had worked for.

He enjoyed the weekly Bible study and took his turn hosting it at his home. He looked forward to the monthly senior citizen's meals held at Immanuel United Methodist Church in Chili. He loved to visit with friends in town, and always had a weather update to give them. He enjoyed life and kept himself busy. He made several trips to Rushing Wind Retreat in Canada. He loved fishing and just being around people. Milton was a special gift from God to all who took the time to know him, and will be sadly missed. He lived alone after his parents passed away until June 2005, when he went to Marshfield Living Center, due to medical reasons.

Milton is survived by one sister, Lorna (Paul) Riedel; one niece, Karen (Duane) Reed; and two nephews, Stanley and Amos.

His parents and a brother, Lawrence, predeceased him.
