Karger, Carl (1858 - 15 Aug. 1943)

Carl Karger, 85, passed away at the home of his daughter in Spooner, at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, August 15, 1943, following a stroke and illness of nearly four weeks. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 15, 1943, at Spooner.

Mr. Karger was born in 1858 in Germany to Mr. and Mrs. Carl Karger. He has been in the United States since 1877 and a resident of Clark County for nearly 30 years.

He was married to Augusta Sturve in Milwaukee. To this union was born eight children.

The deceased is survived by seven children: Mrs. Frank Kren, Neillsville; Mrs. Loyd Smith, Spooner; William, Detroit; Charles and Frank, St. Paul; Fred in North Dakota; and Mrs. Arthur Sager, Milwaukee; 15 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. His wife and one daughter, Mrs. Perry Lambert, preceded him in death.
