Dittmeyer, Mary (17 Feb. 1881 - Dec. 1945)

Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Dittmeyer, age 64, whose death was reported last week, were held at St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran church, Green Grove, Wisconsin Sunday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock, Rev. M. C. Goetsch officiating, and internment was made in the parish cemetery. Pall bearers were Mike Nosbish, Louis Gosse, Ted Klawitter, Henry Lake, Wm. Neuhaus and George Theilig. Those in charge of the flowers were Dorraine Mandel, Elviva Nosbish, Lucille Gottschalk and Ione Klawitter.

The deceased, the former Mary Gottschalk, was born on Feb. 17th, 1881, at Waddow, Germany, and came to the United States with her parents when six weeks old. She came to this locality 63 years ago. She was married to Adolph Dittmeyer in the town of Colby on July 13, 1910. They made their home on a farm in the town of Colby, Wis. Mr. Dittmeyer died on Feb. 23, 1936.

Surviving are one son, Henry, on the home farm; one daughter, Mrs. William (Irene) Theilig of the town of Colby; four grand children; one brother, William Gottschalk of the town of Colby; and two sisters, Mrs. Oscar (Louise) Johnson of Colby and Mrs. Dan Zeilsdorf of Glenwood City, Wisconsin.

The deceased was a good Christian, of a congenial disposition and industrial habits and was well liked by all who knew her. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Ladies’ Aid for about 15 years and was prominent in church affairs. She had been ill with a heart attack for two weeks.

Out of town people here for the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Fred Ehnert of Kiel, Wis., Mrs. Anna Hensel of Sheboygan, Wis., Mr. and Mrs. George Zimmerman and son of Plymouth, Wis., Walter Bub of Elkhart Lake, Wis., Mr. and Mrs. Dan Zielsdorf of Glenwood City, Wis., Mr. and Mrs. Gerhardt Zielsdorf of Boyceville, Wis., Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Gottschalk of Riplinger, Wis., Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Dittmeyer, Mr. and Mrs. Orvil Baumgart, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Gottschalk and family and Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Johnson of Colby, Wisconsin.
