COLBY -- Meta Jakobi, 100, died April 26, 2006, at Colonial Home in Colby, Wis. Hansen Funeral Home of Marshfield is assisting the family. A complete obituary will be published at a later date.

Meta S. Jakobi

COLBY -- Meta S. Jakobi, 100, passed away Wednesday, April 26, 2006, at Colonial Home at Colby, Wis.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 2, 2006, at Zion Lutheran Church in Colby, Wis.

She was born July 1, 1905, in the Loyal area to Jake and Lilly Anderegg. She was married to Fred Jakobi Jr. on Sept. 4, 1926. They farmed in the Spencer and Loyal area and later operated the Corner Bar & Cafe in Unity, Wis. Meta ran the cafe for 10 years, then retired.

Some time later, she lived for more than 10 years with her son and daughter-in-law, Don and Tie Jakobi of Colby, Wis. For the last three years she resided in nursing homes.

She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church of Colby, Wis. She enjoyed making many baby afghans for her grandchildren and full-size afghans for all her family, reading spiritual books and gardening.

She is survived by two sons, Don (Tie) Jakobi of Colby and Duane (Elsie) Jakobi of Chili; a daughter, Doreen Boushon of Loyal; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Malinda Klemme of Marshfield and Viola (Delmer) Bautch of La Crosse; and a brother, Ervin (Doc) Anderegg of Loyal.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Fred, in 1979; a daughter, Darlene Pischer; two sons and a daughter in infancy; a granddaughter, Dawn Marie Jakobi; two brothers and two sisters.

Hansen Funeral Home of Marshfield is assisting the family.
