Filipiak, Clara (23 OCT 1940)

A very pretty wedding took place at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Lublin, at 4:30 o’clock Oct. 23rd, 1940, when Rev. Polaszewski join in holy bonds of matrimony, Mr. Maylond Ogurek, of the town of Roosevelt (Taylor Co., Wis.), daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Filipiak of the town of Taft.

The bride was beautifully attired in a gown of white satin, with long train. Her long veil was adorned with an orange blossom crown and she carried a bouquet of rose and chrysanthemums. Miss Elsie Trubac, maid of honor, wore taffeta. Attending couple were Lottie Pawlicki and Steve Losiewicz and Virginia Novak and Louis Lewan. The bridesmaids were dressed in taffeta and carried colonial mixed bouquets and each wore a pink carnation in their hair.

After the ceremony a reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents which was attended by a large number of relatives and friends. A dance was held at the American Legion Hall, Thorp in the evening.

They will reside on the groom’s farm in the town of Roosevelt.

Guests from away to attend the wedding were: Mrs. E. Lemanski and children of Milwaukee, and Miss Elsie Trubac of Evanston, Ill.
