Sorenson, Mamie #2 (23 May 1891 - May 1914)

(continuation of previously posted obit)

Andrew Sorenson, the father and her two sisters, Esther and Annie arrived here Tuesday morning with the remains, and the funeral was held from the Salem Evangelical church Wednesday afternoon, the Rev. W. W. Krueger performing the ceremony.

Miss Mamie Sorenson was born at Phillips, Wis, May 23, 1891. At the age of four years, her parents moved to this village where they made their home until five years ago, when they moved to Kansas. Her happy school life was spent here during which time she made many friends. She was a dutiful daughter, a loving sister and a faithful friend. On her fifth birthday her mother passed on to the great beyond.

She leaves to mourn her loss, her father, step mother, two sisters, three step brothers, besides a host of other relatives and friends.

"We lay thee in the silent tomb, Sweet blossom of the day;

We just began to view thy bloom, When thou wert called away."

"Friendship and love have done their last, And now can do no more;

The bitterness of death is past, And all thy suffering’s o’er."

"Thou minglest now in that bright throng, Around the eternal throne,

And joinst the everlasting song With those before thee gone."
