Curtiss, Wis. - Feb. 14, 1946

Directors and officers elected at the annual meeting of stockholders of the Curtiss State Bank were Dr. H. H. Christofferson, president and director; John T. Miller, director; Theo. Thompson, director; A. M. Erickson, cashier and director; Harold Tonn, assistant cashier and secretary of the board; and E. E. Jenson, assistant cashier. Miss Irene Schuette and Miss Betty Geary were rehired as clerk-teller and bookkeeper. Reports show that deposits increased approximately $480,000 the past year.

Miss Betty Long and Harold Roohr, whose wedding will be an event of this week, were honored at a miscellaneous shower at the village hall on Friday evening. Dancing furnished the evening’s entertainment. The couple received many useful gifts. Refreshments were served.

A good sized crowd turned out to the Owen Band and Orchestra Mother’s play, entitled, "The Mystery of the Masked Girl" on Thursday evening.

Mildred Thompson, a student at the University of Wis., returned to Madison on Sunday afternoon after having spent the week-end with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Thompson.

Mrs. Paul Fricke was a Marshfield visitor on Friday.

Msdmes Arthur Laabs, Harry Laabs, Fritz Laabs and Orville Laabs visited with Mrs. Bernard Laabs at the Marshfield, Wisconsin Hospital on Friday.

E. M. Peterson, Walter Fritz, A. E. Stadler and Paul Stasek attended a AAA committee meeting at Neillsville on Thursday.

Mrs. F. H. Matthias was hostess to her bridge club on Saturday afternoon. High scores were held by Mrs. Fred Machlett and Miss Bertha Kraut.

Kathryn Peterson, a student at Central State Teachers College, at Stevens Point, spent the week-end with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Peterson.
