Sazama, Mr./Mrs. Joseph (50th Anniv. - 28 Oct. 1946)

Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Sazama, Sr., celebrated their golden wedding anniversary at the home of their son and daughter in law, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Sazama, Jr., Monday, Oct. 28, when a reception was given during the day. In the evening, a dance was given at Cherokee.

Mr. Sazama was born on May 25, 1872, in Czechoslovakia and came to Colby in 1881. Mrs. Sazama was born on Nov. 19, 1876, in Czechoslovakia and came to Colby in 1896. They were married in St. Mary’s Catholic church in Colby, Wisconsin on Oct. 28, 1896. They have six children - Joseph Sazama of Colby, Mrs. Bruno Dahlke of Edgar, Mrs. Raymond Berg of Colby, Dr. F. B. Sazama of Chippewa Falls, Tony Sazama of Worthington, Minn., Dr. John Sazama of Chippewa Falls.

Out of town people here for the celebration were Mr. and Mrs. Frank Zid of Berwyn, Ill., Mr. and Mrs. Ed Vonderheid, Mrs Rose Hughs and Mrs. Betty Mohacek of Chicago, Mr. and Mrs. Tony Sazama of Worthington, Minn., Mrs. Ed Waamka of Wells, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. Cline of Chippewa Falls, Mertin Berg of Edgar, Mrs. Mary Kobs (bridesmaid), Chas. Fuhrman of Fenwood (best man), Dr. and Mrs. John Sazama, Mr. and Mrs. Bruno Dahlke.

Mr. and Mrs. Sazama are old pioneers and built a farm out of the woods which is now the Joseph Sazama, Jr., farm. They lived on this farm in the town of Frankfort for 36 years.
