Colby - June 26, 1947

Mr. and Mrs. Richard Wiegmann spent the week-end at Tomahawk with the latter’s brother.

Mr. and Mrs. Louis Beyerl spent the past week in Chicago and Milwaukee with their daughters.

Mrs. Ella Murray of Eau Claire visited the past week with her mother, Mrs. August Stock, who is very ?.

Mr. and Mrs. John Tigen and daughter, Dianna, of Menomonie, visited several days with friends in Colby, Wisconsin.

Mr. and Mrs. Dale Reis and Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Schjonemann spent several days fishing near Hayward.

Mrs. H. P. Mossing and son, Everett, left Wednesday for Hibbing, Minn., where they will visit relatives for a week.

J. J. Youmans, former Soo Line agent at Colby, now Soo Line agent at Mellen, spent the week-end at his home in Colby, Wisconsin.

Mrs. A. F. Beawer and daughter, Rhoda, of Caldwell, Idaho, are visiting the former’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Bruss.

Chas. Adams returned to Colby Saturday after visiting two weeks with relatives in Chicago, Milwaukee and Sheboygan.

Malena Grambort, Mrs. Ann Bahlstrom and Edwin Preussner spent the week-end at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Grambort.

Mr. and Mrs. Clifton Fonstad and family of Phillips visited last week Wednesday with Mrs. Fonstad’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Fleischauer.

Mr. and Mrs. Richard Reyer and children of Two Rivers visited the past week at the home of Mrs. Reyer’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. D. Loos.

Mrs. Ed Kademan spent several days at Princeton, Wis., with her sister, Mrs. John Disterhoft, who returned to Colby with her for an indefinite stay here.

Mr. and Mrs. Keith Bechel and daughters of Seattle, Wash., arrived in Colby Thursday for a month’s visit with Mrs. Beechel’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Al Franz.

Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Davis, Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Frane, Irene Domer and Bud Nelson left Monday for Canada on a fishing trip. They expect to be back next Monday.

A. X. Umhoefer, Paul and Mary Umhoefer and Miss Bernadette Kraus attended the field mass at Virocqua Sunday. On their return home they visited the James Umhoefer family in Janesville.

Mr. and Mrs. S. L. Loos and son, David, returned Tuesday from their trip to western states, including California. Enroute, their visits included Boulder Dam, Grand Coulee Dam, Yellowstone Park and the Redwood Forest.

Mr. and Mrs. John Mertin of Fond du Lac spent Saturday afternoon with their old friends, Mr. and Mrs. C. P. Tessmer. They came to surprise Mrs. Tessmer on her birthday anniversary. They were on their way home from Phillips.

Mrs. Fred Rienow returned home after spending a week in Ladysmith at the home of her son in law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. C. R. Graves. Mrs. Graves returned *** Note: The remainder of this article was missing.
