Curtis - June 17, 1948

A daughter was born to Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Olson at Victory Hospital at Stanley on Thurs., June 10.

Mr. and Mrs. Bob Green of LaCrosse spent the week-end with his mother, Mrs. Minnie Green.

Grant Herrick attended the spring meeting and banquet of the Rural Letter Carriers Association at Neillsville on Saturday, June 12th.

Mrs. Jas Skinner of Bloomington, Wis., arrived here last Wednesday for a visit at the home of her son, Wayne Olson.

John Erickson, who has been teaching at Brookings College, S. Dak., arrived here on Friday to spend the summer with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Erickson.

Henry Voightlander and James Mowery, students at the U. of Wis., arrived here on Friday to spend the summer at their respective homes.

The families of Orville, Bernard, Arthur, Fritz and Harry Laabs and their older brothers, Herman and Glenn, who were visiting here, enjoyed a family reunion at Bernard Laab’s cottage on Sunday. Herman Laabs of Miami, Okla., and Glenzer Laabs of Concordia, Mo., returned to their homes on Tuesday.

Mr. and Mrs. E. M. Peterson left on Friday morning for Madison where they will attend commencement exercises at the University of Wisconsin, when their son, Arthur, will receive his master’s degree.

Mr. and Mrs. Albert Bakke spent Sunday with the latter’s sister and family at Gillette, Wis.

Norbert Buss of Muskegon, Mich., who spent the week-end here, attended the Geary-Nitzel wedding on Saturday. He left for his home on Monday morning accompanied by his sister, Joyce Buss, who has spent the past two months with the A. M. Erickson family.

Mr. and Mrs. Orville Schuette of Rockford arrived here on Friday to attend the wedding of the former’s sister, Arlene Schuette, and will spend the week-end with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Peterson.

Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Koerner enjoyed the week-end with relatives in Oshkosh and Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Mr. and Mrs. Jack McCorrison and daughter, Jane, and the former’s mother, Mrs. McCorrison, spent Sunday with friends at Ladysmith.

Mrs. Ida Kraut was admitted to St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, on Thursday for medical treatments.

Mrs. John Michlig was hostess to the Merry-Go-Round club on Thursday.

Capt. and Mrs. Arnold Jakel and son of New York City left for their home on Monday after a week’s visit at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Jakel.
