Wilke, Bernice (Marriage - 8 Sept. 1948)

Miss Bernice Wilke, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Max Wilke of Dorchester, and James Beck, son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Beck of Colby, exchanged marriage vows in a double ring ceremony at a nuptial high mass at St. Bernard’s Catholic church at Abbotsford Wednesday morning, Sept. 8, Rev. Francis J. Brockmann officiating.

The bridal gown was designed of white satin with a train. She wore a heart shaped locket and earrings, and carried a shower bouquet of pink and white roses. Her finger tip veil was caught to a beaded head dress.

The attendants were all gowned alike in satin frocks made with tight bodices and hoop skirts. They wore matching satin arm gloves and head dresses of satin, trimmed with lace, and pearl necklaces, gifts of the bride. They carried similar bouquets of pink and white chrysanthemums. Blue satin was worn by Miss Helen Wilke, of Medford, sister of the bride, who was maid of honor. Yellow and pink were chosen for Miss Betty Beck, sister of the groom, of Colby, and Miss Joyce Ortlieb, of Dorchester, the bridesmaids.

Miss Shirley Lang of Dorchester, a cousin of the bride, was flower girl. She too, wore a white satin frock with matching arm gloves, and bonnet. She wore a necklace of pearls, the gift of the bride, and carried a bouquet of chrysanthemums.

The best man was Louis Boxrucker, of Dorchester, and the ushers were Norman Wilke, brother of the bride, and George Rau, of Dorchester, Wisconsin.

Mr. and Mrs. James Beck are now at home to friends at 533 Smith Street, Stevens Point.
