Schraufnagel, Frank (20 Feb. 1881 - 9 Feb. 1948)

Frank Schraufnagel, age 67, of the town of Hull, was found dead, slumped against his car, Monday afternoon at 4:00 o’clock on a Marathon county road in the town of Hull by several school children who were on their way from school. He had stopped his car and got out before he collapsed and died. He died at approximately 3:30 o’clock, apparently of a heart attack, according to the doctor who examined him.

Rev. N. B. Beschta will officiate at funeral services Friday morning at 9:30 o’clock at St. Mary’s Catholic church in Colby and internment will be made in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery. The body is at the Lulloff Funeral Home in Colby, Wisconsin.

Mr. Schraufnagel was a lifelong resident of the town of Hull, having been born here February 20th, 1881. He was married in Colby May 29, 1920, to Lena Schilling who died November 19th, 1931.

Survivors are four sons, Emil Schraufnagel of Mason, Alphonse and Cletus Schraufnagel of the town of Hull and Arthur Schraufnagel of Neillsville; two daughters, Miss Martha Schraufnagel of Chicago and Mrs. Floyd Treankler of Abbotsford; five brothers, Joseph, Michael and Henry Schraufnagel of Glidden, Leonard Schraufnagel of the town of Hull and Norbert Schraufnagel of Colby; two sisters, Mrs. Herbert Schraufnagel of Richland Center and Mrs. Theopholic Michlich of Keyville and 11 grand children.

Funeral services for Frank Schraufnagel, age 67, who died of a heart attack, as reported last week, were held Friday morning at St. Mary’s Catholic church, Rev. N. B. Beschta officiating at the requiem high mass, and burial was made in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery. Pall bearers were John Ohlinger, Leo and Frank Apfelbeck, Lawrence Peterson, Joe Kunze, Alphonse Schmitt. Flowers were in charge of Virginia and Darlene Treankler, Stella and Mary Kunze, all of Abbotsford, Joyce Schraufnagel of Mason and Donna Van Dreel of Colby, Wisconsin.

Out of town relatives here for the funeral were Martha Schraugnagel of Chicago, Mr. and Mrs. Emil Schraufnagel and daughter, Joyce, and Ernest Schraufnagel of Mason, Wis., Arthur Schraufnagel of Neillsville, Bernard Schraufnagel of Mellen, Mr. and Mrs. Mike Schraufnagel, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Schraufnagel and Mary, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Schraufnagel of Glidden, Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Schrauf and Mrs. Theo. Mislich of Richland Center, Alfred Schraufnagel, Hubert Schraufnagel of Oakfield, Joe Feucht of Leroy, Mr. and Mrs. George Schraufnagel of LaMira, Emil Weix of Medford, Mr. and Mrs. John Schilling, Dale Schilling, John Schilling, Mrs. Joseph Schmeiler of Edgar.
