Mews, Frieda M. (6 June 1901 - 23 Jan. 1984)

Unity--Mrs. Edward (Frieda M.) Mews, 82, Route 1, Unity died at 6:15 p.m. Monday at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield, where she was admitted Jan. 18.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Unity. The Rev. Timothy A. Duesenberg will officiate. Burial will be in Colby Memorial cemetery (Colby, Wisconsin).

Pallbearers will be grandsons, Dennis Kademan, Michael Landeck, Douglas Sherman, Steven Dallman, Kurt Mews, Brian Gottschalk and T. J. Mews.

Visitation at the Rux Funeral Home, Colby, will be after 2 p.m. Wednesday.

The former Frieda M. Wendt was born June 6, 1901 in Marshfield, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Albert Wendt. She received her education in the Evergreen Hill School in the Town of Marshfield and Emmanuel Lutheran Christian Day School in Marshfield.

She was married to Edward Mews May 18, 1921 in Marshfield. After their marriage they lived in Auburndale, Marshfield and Unity areas. The last 50 years were spent in Unity.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and its Ladies Aid Society; and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 358 of Unity.

Surviving are her husband; six daughters, Mrs. John (Ruth) Landeck of Pewaukee, Mrs. Richard (Ethel) Wagner of Glendale, Mrs. Ervin (Delores) Sherman of New Berlin, Mrs. Maynard (Leona) Dallman of Wisconsin Rapids, Mrs. Elroy (Betty) Gottschalk of Hartland and Mrs. David (Doreen) Luepke of Stratford; four sons, Edward Jr. of Delafield, Marvin and James, both of Brookfield and Levi of Appleton; 33 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Reinholdt Wendt of Marshfield.

She was also predeceased by a daughter, a brother and a sister.
