Abbotsford, Wis. - Aug. 21, 1952

Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Kostke and family of Stevens Point spent a few days with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Dietsche.

Miss Florence Dietsche returned to Stevens Point after spending a week at her home here.

Mrs. William Fecker is now staying with her daughter, Mrs. Dwight Schmaker in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Juneau spent several days in Chicago, Ill., and Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Sue and Dave Juneau and "Jiggs" visited at the William Sedlack home in Dorchester, Wisconsin.

Miss Martha Janda of Milwaukee spent the week-end at home.

The Abbotsford Public Schools will re-open Monday, Aug. 25.

The engagement and approaching marriage of Janice Eleine Sheppard, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Sheppard of Fargo, N. Dak., to William R. Hemphill, son of Mr. and Mrs. Vern Hemphill of Abbotsford, has been announced by Miss Shepard’s parents. Miss Sheppard in a June graduate of Hamline University of St. Paul, Minn., and Mr. Hemphill graduated in June from the University of Wisconsin. They will make their home in Washington, D.C., where Mr. Hemphill is employed with the Department of Interior.

Mrs. Leona Pacholke spent several days in Chilton and Stockbridge.

Gordon Knight, who has been home on furlough, left for Camp Stoneman, Calif. Don Lewis, who has been here and at Rib Lake with relatives, reported back to Camp Stoneman August 19.

Cpl. Kenneth W. Smith, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Smith of Abbotsford, has received orders to return to the United States from Korea where he has been serving with a unit of the X Corps. Fighting in mountainous terrain, controls in combat a number of units of division strength or less which are assigned to it. It has its own command post troops who augment the fighting forces. Smith was a pole lineman in Company A, 4th Signal Battalion. He entered the army in March, 1951.

Mrs. Ed Stock was taken to Rochester, Minn., for medical treatments.
